I’m Max, CEO of SportsTrace and I’ve been getting a few inquiries since our announcement yesterday asking, “What is SportsTrace VisionX?”
So what actually is it?
SportsTrace VisionX TL;DR: Further AI insights about your video uploads currently available to paid mobile app subscribers (just launched yesterday).
SportsTrace VisionX pics out trends across your measurements and recommendations – the video insights that SportsTrace already provides – and breaks those down across time and (for organizations) groups of athletes. To get SportsTrace VisionX insights, you only need to have a paid subscription to SportsTrace and you need to upload videos for the requisite time period. 🙂
OK so what’s next?
Our next phase would be delivering this through the API. SportsTrace VisionX is currently delivered to mobile app users through email summaries. We are working with IBM as a partner on all things SportsTrace VisionX.
The first phase of SportsTrace VisionX notifications were, as stated above, sent out to users starting yesterday. They were sent to paid subscribers who uploaded videos in 2025. Going forward, the cadence will change and some of the time-based comparisons will change (incorporating just as many trends as we do time-over-time comparisons).
Anything else I can read about it?
Here are the (admittedly more hype) posts:

Do you have an example?
We do, but as you know, we would NEVER send customer data to ANYONE. Your data is YOUR DATA. So to answer the question, “What’s the more grounded truth about SportsTrace VisionX with an example?” we provided the text below. In this example below is a test we did of what SportsTrace VisionX would send an organization owner about that organization’s athletes based on their uploads (the names have been changed to protect the innocent):
Hello, Â I’ve analyzed the data from the Unnamed Academy and have identified several Recommendation Groups for your baseball pitchers. Here’s a breakdown: |
- **Hip Rotation**: This group focuses on improving the hip rotation technique during pitching. Players Bob Feller, Johan Santana, and Mike Scott have all been recommended to work on this aspect. Bob and Johan have each been recommended three times, while Mike has been recommended twice.
- **Hip/Shoulder Separation**: This group emphasizes the importance of separating the hips and shoulders during the pitching motion. Bob Feller and Mike Scott have been recommended to focus on this, with Bob being recommended six times and Mike three times.
- **Stride Length**: This group is about optimizing the stride length during pitching. Johan Santana and Bob Feller have been recommended to work on this, with each being recommended three times.
- **Tilt**: This group focuses on the tilt or angle of the pitching motion. Bob Feller and Johan Santana have been recommended to work on this, with Bob being recommended six times and Johan three times. Â
Each of these groups has specific recommendations for improving pitching technique. I recommend addressing these areas in your training programs to help your pitchers enhance their performance. Â Best regards!
Did we mess up with the emails?
Yes and no. I mean, I did. We sent out all the SportsTrace VisionX emails to customers, so we didn’t mess that up. We also sent out a marketing email that had (sigh) my name in it for like, a lot of people. That’s on me, sorry for any confusion.
What if I have more questions?
We are ALWAYS happy to answer any questions folks have. You can contact us on our website, you can always reach out directly, you can contact support and file a ticket (for subscribers), or you can ask us on your social media channel of choice (provided it’s any of the following):
